Was soll ich sagen? Ich bin noch immer nicht weniger atemlos als die Protagonistin Lucinda. Übrigens etwas, das in einigen Rezensionen als äußerst (ver-)störend empfunden wurde. Natürlich ist auch mir die ständige Kurzatmigkeit aufgefallen. Allerdings lässt sich das schnell daraus erklären, dass die Gute ja immerhin dazu bestimmt ist, einen Vampir zu nähren, welcher sich üblicherweise zur Nahrungsaufnahme an ihrer Kehle gütlich tut. Ganz ehrlich? Wenn ich das wüsste, würde es mir auch vermehrt eben jene zugehen.

Ich möchte nicht sagen, dass der Anfang langweilig oder schleppend war. Es hat mich nur nicht sofort mitgerissen - auch in Aussicht darauf, dass noch knappe 20 Stunden Hören vor mir lagen. Doch nach und nach wurde ich mehr gefesselt. Und ohne es zu merken, wollte ich das Hörbuch gar nicht mehr von den Ohren nehmen, habe immer mal wieder ein wenig zurückgespult, um sicher zu sein, nichts verpasst oder überhört zu haben. Die letzten Stunden war ich dann irgendwann in einer anderen Welt, so sehr hat mich die Geschichte gefesselt.

Im übrigen enthält die kurze Inhaltsangabe kaum Information zum Buch. Sie ist lediglich die Beschreibung eines Prologs, würde ich mal sagen. Denn die Geschichte beginnt erst dann wirklich eine Geschichte zu sein, als Lucinda bei Joaquin eintrifft und hat annähernd so viel mit Hexerei zu tun wie mit Vampirismus. Mehr mag ich gar nicht verraten.

Anzumerken habe ich noch, dass das Buch von Simona Pahl in der Ich-Form gelesen wird. Und sie macht ihre Sache wirklich ausgezeichnet. Absolut großartig. Kurze Abschnitte, die entweder fast ausschließlich von Joaquin handeln oder dessen tot geglaubtem Großvater, werden von Günter Merlau und Achim Schülke interpretiert. Wer jetzt wen liest, weiß ich leider nicht. Nur, dass ich den Sprecher für die Joaquin-Parts nicht sonderlich prickelnd fand. Die Lesung war absolut und total übertrieben und entsprach so gar nicht meinen Vorstellungen, die ich zwischenzeitlich von Joaquin hatte. Das allerdings ist völlig nebensächlich, denn gut neunzig Prozent der Lesung liegt bei Simona Pahl.

Of course, I noticed the constant shortness of breath. However, we can explain it quickly from the fact that the good is, after all, designed to nurture a vampire, which usually does in her throat to feed amicably. Honestly? If I knew it would give me even more that go.

I would not say that the beginning was boring and slow. It has just swept me immediately - even in view of the fact that even brief hearing in front of me 20 hours. But gradually I became more tied. And without realizing it, I did not even take the audio book of the ears, did a little every now and then rewind to be sure, nothing missed or have not heard about. The last few hours I was at some point in a different world, so I was tied up the story.

Also gives a short synopsis hardly any information about the book. It is merely a description of a prologue, I would say. For the story only begins to be really a story, as Lucinda arrives at Joaquin, and has nearly as much to do with witchcraft like vampirism. More like I did not tell.

It should be noted, I have that book by Simona Pahl in the I-form is read. And it makes her business really excellent. Absolutely great. Short sections that deal almost exclusively of either Joaquin or his dead grandfather Felt are interpreted by Gunter and Achim Schülke Merlau. Anyone who reads now, I do not know. Just that I the speaker for the Joaquin parts not particularly sparkling place. The reading was absolutely and totally exaggerated and corresponded so not my idea that I had in the meantime by Joaquin. However, this is completely irrelevant, because ninety percent of good reading is Simona Pahl.
